(ENFIELD, CT) – WHI Global, a leading vertically integrated manufacturer serving the aerospace and defense industry, today announced the opening of its Aerobond Composites manufacturing facility in Enfield, Connecticut. The company has invested more than $4 million to establish a state-of-the-art, 78,600-square-foot facility designed to significantly increase production capacity and support long-term growth.

The newly upgraded facility features advanced manufacturing technologies, including a new 10-foot diameter autoclave, modernized legacy autoclaves, six laser ply projection cells, enhanced climate-controlled clean rooms, and upgraded quality assurance and cutting equipment. The streamlined, open layout is designed to optimize production flow and position the company for future scalability.

“This expansion represents a major milestone for WHI Global and Aerobond as we continue to grow alongside our customers in the aerospace and defense sectors,” said Khalid Rokhami, CEO of WHI Global. “Connecticut offers a strong advanced manufacturing ecosystem, making it the ideal location to scale our operations and invest in next-generation composite technologies.”

The project received support from the State of Connecticut and the Town of Enfield, including an $800,000 grant from the Department of Economic and Community Development’s Strategic Supply Chain Initiative to help the company expand its production capacity.

“WHI Global’s expansion in Enfield is another strong signal that Connecticut’s advanced manufacturing sector continues to grow and compete on the global stage,” said John Bourdeaux, President and CEO of AdvanceCT. “Companies like Aerobond are choosing to invest here because of our highly skilled workforce, robust aerospace supply chain, and collaborative partnerships across industry and government. We’re proud to support WHI Global’s continued growth and long-term commitment to Connecticut.”

Aerobond Composites is a premier supplier of advanced composite structures for rotorcraft, UAVs, and other mission-critical aerospace and defense applications. The company’s expansion supports growing demand from key partners, including long-standing relationships with major aerospace manufacturers.

“We are proud to support WHI Global on this important expansion,” said David Caputo, Founder & Managing Partner of RVE Partners, the private equity firm backing WHI Global. “This investment reflects our confidence in Aerobond’s capabilities, the strength of its customer relationships, and the strategic advantages Connecticut provides for advanced manufacturing.”

Founded in 1989 in Springfield, Massachusetts, Aerobond was acquired by WHI Global in 2019 and has since continued to expand its capabilities and market reach.
