January 30, 2020

(Hartford, CT, January 31, 2020) – CONNSTEP, Inc., Connecticut’s Manufacturing Extension Partner (MEP), along with the New England Regional Defense Industry Collaboration and the New England MEP National Network Centers, announces a series of free educational workshops on Cybersecurity Resiliency for Defense Contractors.

With current and future Department of Defense (DoD) contracts at stake, cybersecurity compliance is a strategic necessity that contractors and their suppliers cannot ignore without potential consequences. Third party certification audits are scheduled in 2020 and time is running out for manufacturers to reach compliance.

Each workshop will focus on understanding the consequences of noncompliance and how to ultimately achieve it. Defense contractors will learn what steps to take to ensure the protection of all information as well as the future of their business.

While there are no fees for these sessions, registration is required and refreshments will be provided. Space is limited with manufacturers and defense contractors given first preference. Registrations may be made online at

Dates and locations for each workshop:

Feb. 28: Hartford – Metro Center, 350 Church St.
Mar 20: Bridgeport – Holiday Inn, 1070 Main St.
Apr. 24 Southbury – Heritage Hotel, 522 Heritage Rd.
May 15: Groton – Hampton Inn, 300 Long Hill Rd.

In addition to the MEP National Network, New England MEP Centers also supporting the workshops for defense contractors with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) cybersecurity compliance include MASS MEP, Maine MEP, Polaris (RI) MEP, Vermont MEP, and New Hampshire MEP. The Connecticut PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center) and the Vermont Agency of Commerce & Community Development (ACCD)* are also supporting these cyber workshops.
