Congressman Jim Himes Visits Hoffman Engineering

(Stamford, CT, March 1, 2018) – In an ongoing effort to understand more about the contributions that NIST MEP Centers make to the manufacturing industry, Connecticut Congressman Jim Himes visited Hoffman Engineering in Stamford and learned about the benefits their business realized working with CONNSTEP.
CONNSTEP President and CEO Bonnie Del Conte, along with Business Growth Advisor Robert Colapietro, shared details about the Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) training and Project Management Workshop that the MEP center provided to Hoffman Engineering. The leadership team at Hoffman explained the outcomes realized from these services resulted in new investments and workforce training and significant cost savings.
According to Tom Pendergast, Business Improvement Manager at Hoffman Engineering, “CONNSTEP helped us with RCCA which identified an area for improvement in our manufacturing process. Given that we work closely with OEM’s, it’s critical we have the most efficient processes.”
Congressman Himes plans to use the knowledge and information he gains from this manufacturing visit and others in his district to renew funding of MEP Centers in the next budget being considered in Washington, DC.
