Made in CT

About a year ago, the southern California Manufacturing Extension Partnership (CMTC) began a program called Made in CA – creating an online directory of local manufacturers and providing each participating company with a profile to list their products and services, important web and social links, and images or videos of their products.  The goal was to assist small and midsize manufacturers in increasing their web presence and create a “one-stop” for legislators, interested buyers and the public to learn more about the manufacturers – and increasing the industry’s presence through social media and marketing outreach.

Now with just about 200 manufacturers represented, CMTC and the Made in CA program became an inspiration for us here at CONNSTEP.  Looking for innovative ways to showcase the great people, products and services of the Connecticut manufacturing community, we joined our sister MEP centers in Illinois, Washington and New Jersey, with the Made in CT program which launched on October 1st at

The Made in CT program provides Connecticut manufacturers – of any size – the opportunity to have a company profile, be included in the directory of manufacturers and increase their on-line presence.  In addition to better brand recognition, participating manufacturers will have the opportunity to be a featured manufacturer of the week, positioned front and center on the Made in CT home page.  Additionally, we will submit them for the opportunity to be the featured manufacturer on our federal partner NIST/MEP’s Made it in America site where they will receive national recognition.

It is our way to promote the industry, celebrate the good things that manufacturing contributes to the local economy and to keep manufacturing front and center in the minds of legislators and the public.

CONNSTEP solved a huge problem for us and helped us bring our delivery rate to 100%. As a direct result of that, we have been awarded with an increase in business which, ultimately, will also benefit (our supplier) Har-Conn.”
