CONNSTEP LAUNCHES NEW “MADE IN CT” PROGRAM FOR STATE’S MANUFACTURERS

October 01, 2012

by Nate Berger

(Rocky Hill, Connecticut) CONNSTEP announced today the creation of a new “Made in CT” Program for state manufacturers.  The goal of the program is to showcase the products made in the Nutmeg State and highlight the contributions of the manufacturing community to the public. Additionally, the program provides social media forums for manufacturers to connect with one another and discuss industry issues.

“Connecticut’s manufacturers play an integral part in our state’s economic health and account for over 12 percent of the state’s total output.  We are home to 5,000 manufacturers who employ more than 169,000 workers and serve as the primary exporter of goods,” says Bonnie Del Conte, president and CEO of CONNSTEP.

As part of the program, CONNSTEP now dedicates a section of its website to the “Made in CT” Program (www.made-in-ct.com)  creating a directory for the state’s manufacturers and their products and services.  Connecticut manufacturers can sign up and receive a company profile page where they can share a company description, logo, contact information, company news and pictures and/or videos of their products and services. There is no cost to participate and participating companies can use the “Made in CT” Program logo on their websites, products and product packaging.

CONNSTEP will also be launching a “Featured Manufacturer of the Week” as part of the program.  The featured manufacturer will be prominently displayed on the website as well as on the “Made in CT” Facebook page, LinkedIn group and Twitter feed (@CTMade).  CONNSTEP is encouraging participating companies to use the social media platforms to network, ask questions and share ideas on how to become more productive, efficient and innovative.

CONNSTEP solved a huge problem for us and helped us bring our delivery rate to 100%. As a direct result of that, we have been awarded with an increase in business which, ultimately, will also benefit (our supplier) Har-Conn.”
