December 05, 2012
(Rocky Hill, Connecticut) – CONNSTEP announced today Lex Products Corporation is the featured Made in CT manufacturer of the week. Lex Products is a leading manufacturer of innovative power distribution and control systems for demanding markets, including entertainment, industrial and the military. Founded in 1989, the company specializes in portable power systems designed to withstand rough use and harsh environments, including distribution boxes, cable assemblies, cable protectors and other products.
“Lex Products turned to CONNSTEP in 2005 to assist them in improving processes at all phases of their business: quality systems, engineering, production, and product development. When Lex finally had to move to larger quarters to accommodate growth, CONNSTEP assisted in that move. This partnership has been mutually beneficial, helping CONNSTEP meet its mission to aid economic development in Connecticut by making manufacturers more competitive and helping Lex benefit from the various services and support available in the state.” said Jack Crane, Director of Business and Innovation Services, CONNSTEP.
The Made in CT Program (www.made-in-ct.com) is a dedicated feature on the CONNSTEP website that has created a directory for the state’s manufacturers to showcase their products and services. Connecticut manufacturers can register to receive a complimentary company profile page to share company history, products/services and company news. The goal of the program is to showcase the products made in the Nutmeg State and highlight the contributions of the manufacturing community to the public. Additionally, the program provides social media forums for manufacturers to connect with one another and discuss industry issues.
All participating companies have the opportunity to become the featured manufacturer of the week. As the featured manufacturer of the week, Lex Products will be prominently displayed on the CONNSTEP website as well as on the “Made in CT” Facebook page, LinkedIn group and Twitter feed (@CTMade).
“Connecticut’s manufacturers play an integral part in our state’s economic health and account for over 12 percent of the state’s total output. We are home to 5,000 manufacturers who employ more than 169,000 workers and serve as the primary exporter of goods,” says Bonnie Del Conte, president and CEO of CONNSTEP, “We are excited to provide an opportunity for our manufacturers to benefit from greater exposure and to be recognized for the important impact they make on the Connecticut community.”
